Our client is an investment management firm focussed on building long-term wealth for their clients.

They now seek a manager – institutional client operations to join their team. You will have strong management skills; excellent investment administration skills and the ability to manage the very high standards that this client expects for its clients. This is a new role.

This role is suitable for appropriately qualified, previously disadvantaged affirmative action candidates.

JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • You will be required to be part of the institutional client operations team responsible for providing institutional clients with exceptional service and accurate and efficient administration;
  • You will be required to actively manage the team responsible for the servicing, administration and reporting for all institutional clients
  • You will be responsible for the effective management of staff, quality, efficiency and reduction of risk;
  • You will be required to manage the team responsible for:
    • You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with institutional clients and administrators and to provide them with outstanding client service;
    • You will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of client instructions;
    • You will be responsible for processing of payments to clients and between the subscription account and the respective funds bank accounts;
    • You will be responsible for administering the multi-manager portfolios;
  • You will be required to work closely with the institutional client services team and institutional fund operations;
  • You will be responsible for developing and executing on a strategy for the team;
  • You will be responsible for leading, managing and coaching existing and new staff;
  • You will be responsible for motivating the team – personal growth, training, conflict resolution etc.;
  • You will be required to plan and organize the activities and delivery of the team;
  • You will be required to supervise and support daily activities of team members;
  • You will be responsible for recruitment – conducting interviews and making hiring decisions;
  • You will be required to assist with operational planning: staff projections and capacity planning to ensure that adequate resources are always available;
  • You will be required to monitor and appraise progress of each team member (includes semi-annual appraisal); set objectives for each team member (define how each objective will be measured);
  • You will be responsible for effectively communicating all relevant information to the team;
  • You will be responsible for managing administrative and service quality;
  • You will be responsible for building and maintaining positive working relationships with internal departments and servicing of internal departments to support overall objective of delivering outstanding client reporting;
  • You will be responsible for dealing with and resolving elevated reporting queries / problems;
  • You will be responsible for participation in ad hoc projects as may be required from time to time.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • You have a B.Com/B.Bus Sc and good academic results. You have a history and track record from your secondary education of being a good student and an integral member of society with strong values;
