Our client who has been established in South Africa and investing on behalf of clients since 1974 has grown to become Africa’s largest privately owned investment management company.

They now seek an Organisation Development Specialist to join their team. This is a new role. Smart, capable team. You will need to lead workshops and implement change not just quote the textbook.

This role is for suitably qualified Affirmative  Action candidates. Ideally, looking for a male candidate, if possible, to ensure diversity in the team.

JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • You will be responsible for the successful fulfilment of the job objectives that will lead to professional delivery of service to internal clients related to leadership development, organisational development and learning, onboarding, cultural initiatives and OD business interventions, so that the company can maximise return on their human capital;
  • You will be required to be hands-on in developing and implementing people solutions;
  • Leadership development & training:
    • You will be required to support the manager with meeting business deliveries, specifically relating to leadership development;
    • You will be required to consult with line managers/stakeholders with regards to training needs and changes in the business;
    • You will be required to develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date learning material and presentations;
    • You will be responsible for sourcing of new material / approaches / vendors relating to the leadership development philosophy;
    • You will be responsible for vendor assessment;
    • You will be required to deliver learning interventions and/or manage relationship with vendors;
    • You will be required to coach learners, ensuring anchoring of learning and provide feedback on learner’s progress;
    • You will be required to evaluate impact of training on business;
    • You will be required to run key leadership development and organisation development interventions, from inception to completion;
  • Organisational development & learning:
    • You will be required to refine and implement a comprehensive learning strategy that is aligned to the business’s needs, and that reinforces the principles of a learning organisation;
    • You will be required to consult with line managers/stakeholders with regards to training needs and changes in the business;
    • You will be required to develop and deliver accurate and up to date soft skills training material and presentations, where applicable;
    • You will be required to identify, select and manage external training and accreditation bodies, agencies and providers required to deliver select material, where necessary;
    • You will be required to develop ways of measuring the impact of learning on the organisation in order to measure effectiveness of learning delivery and knowledge retention;
  • Onboarding / orientation and cultural initiatives:
    • You will be required to manage the onboarding / orientation process and experience for new starters;
    • You will be required to provide support, training and change management directly to staff on culture initiatives (onboarding, company citizenship workshop);
  • Involvement in organizational development business intervention initiatives:
    • You will be responsible for involvement in the broader organization development initiatives, i.e. career management, change management, engagement, performance management and talent management;
    • You will be required to support the leadership development team with leadership development integration in the business;
  • You will be required to provide coaching to staff as part of a holistic learning to ensure knowledge transfer occurs not just in the classroom but on the job as well.

CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • You have superior facilitation and presenting training information skills;
  • You have strong fit and identification with the company’s culture; which has a very high work ethic and integrity, honesty and respect;
  • You have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills in English;
  • You have strong facilitation skills;
  • You are conscientious;
  • You are able to research, analyse, collate and present information in a meaningful manner;

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • You have B Com (organisational / industrial psychology);
  • You have minimum 5 years current, relevant experience essential – you will also understand management and leadership initiatives. You must have worked in a global, best practice business;
  • You have minimum 3 years current, relevant experience in developing and running leadership programmes;
  • You have current, relevant facilitation and training experience
  • You have current, relevant experience / participation in leadership programmes;
  • You have advanced MS Office skills.
